A dog playing fetch delivered a live WWII U.S. hand grenade to its owner last weekend in Erkrath, Germany.

According to online sources, the 40-year-old owner of the playful pooch recognized the rusty object as a weapon and contacted police. A munitions expert confirmed identification and safely defused the grenade.
